This is one of many cases where young artists begin their career
in acting and then move on to singing. The daughter of Ignacio
Belinda Peregrín and Belinda Schüll, Belinda made her first appearance
in television as the main character, Ana Capistrán, in the
children's telenovela Amigos X Siempre, where she debuted as an
actress after winning the role in a national casting in Mexico,
beating 5000 other girls. Belinda went on to star in other soap
operas like Aventuras en el Tiempo alongside Christopher
Uckermann and Cómplices al Rescate, which she could not
complete, and was later replaced by actress Daniela Luján. She
also contributed to the soundtracks of those telenovelas.
Belinda Peregrín's international self-titled album Belinda became as big a
success in many different countries, as it was in her native
Mexico. It included singles such as Lo Siento, Boba Nińa Nice,
Ángel, and Vivir, which was also chosen as the main theme song
for Corazones al Límite, another soap opera she briefly appeared
in.
In 2005, Belinda Peregrín collaborated with the Mexican rock band Moderatto,
on their single Muriendo Lento.
In March of 2006 production for the sequel to the Disney Channel
movie The Cheetah Girls began, with Belinda on cast. The entire
film was shot in Barcelona, Spain. The movie will premiere on
August 25.
Belinda Peregrín is currently recording her sophomore album in Los Angeles.
